hi, for something different, try air layering plants. the material shuld be
upright growing or staked to be so. i grow 85 varieties of japanese maple,
and for casual propogation, this works fine. roots are porduced in a
lightproof "bag" on the stem. it takes from 4-6 weeks to induce rooting, and
may be done before the buds elongate, ot after the petioles have hardened off.
also have done this with gingko, azalea, elm, and camellia.
consult any good prop book for details, or repost to me.
good luck
