Diana, in my experience from growing hosta from seed, you simply can't give
them too much water. I set my pots in trays which are kept full (3 inches)
of water. The seedling roots quickly find the way out of their pots
through the holes at the bottom, and many of the seedlings have more roots
out of the pot than inside! I've had seedlings growing like this, inside,
for over a year now with great results.
