Fellow robin members,
I've been following the discussion of sunflowers with interest.
I have a "hot" garden in full sun that includes sunflowers, tithonia,
zinnias, dahlias, hemerocallis, lilies, gaillardia, helianthemums, and
marigolds.
I've seen no indication that the sunflowers impede the growth of the other
plantings (or kills them).
In my bird feeders, positioned in several places around my yard, I use
hulled sunflower seeds to preclude the possibility that the sunflower hulls
will prove toxic to other plantings.
