Re: [SG] Vermont Gardens

Thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Africa of the Vermont Flower Farm, Peacham Pond Rd., RR
#1, Box 611, Marshfield VT 05658-9709, for the help on locating gardens and
nurseries in Vermont.

The Vermont Dept. of Agriculture, Food & Markets, 116 State St., Montpelier,
VT 05620, publishes a leaflet titled "Vermont Perennial & Herb Display
Gardens" which lists 38 Vermont gardens. Some sell plants, others are public.
Locations, brief description of each garden and business hours are given.

Also, the spring issue of Vermont Life contains an article "On the Nursery
Trail" by
Dorothy J. Pellett. Although only six nurseries and the U of Vermont
Horticultural Research Center are covered, more details are given.

Both the above seem excellent resources to anyone visiting Vermont. Again,
thanks very much to the Africas for telling us about them.

The Vermont Flower Farm will be posting its own listing soon. We should check
it out, too.
