Cindy, I just plain don't know...been meaning to post to Trillium
List, but haven't had time - will do this as I am curious. Have not
seen this on my Mayapples, but it appears to be a recognized fungus
disease of that genus. Will go post and see what kind of response I
get - there are some botanists on that list who seem to know their
onions.
Cedar-apple rust is not deadly, as far as I know, mostly disfiguring,
although, of course, any disease weakens a plant to a certain degree.
