At the risk of being a crank on the perennial list, I should like to advise
that alkaline soils grow a vast varieties of desirable plants. Acid soils do
the same. It is a hu;ge amount of work and often not successful to make
changes that will never be permanent. It may be better to study the
environment you have to offer and invite the plants that like your
conditions.
For example, I like alpine plants and have rocky slopes that adapt well to
this style of gardening. Many, many alpine plants are high pH natives and
will do well here only if a new environment is created, ours is a very acid
soil. It might come down to how much work you are willing to do.
