Lunaria annua is actually a biennial, meaning it takes the first year
to grow, and the second to flower and fruit.  It's pretty easy to
grow from seed planted directly outside, just as you might a radish...
it's actually in the radish/mustard family, Cruciferae or Brassicaceae.
Usually takes about 2 weeks to germinate.


I know I've seen plenty of it as roadside weeds around the
Valparaiso area, so I assume you'd see it in similar areas
near Indianapolis.

Other common names: honesty, money plant, peter's penny, full moon.
