Did you plant the Dwarf (Fernleaf) Bleeding Heart or the oldfashioned
Dicentra Spectabile with the showy heartshaped flowers. The Fernleaf should
stay green (ok, gray-green) flowering and healthy looking right through the
summer, but the taller Dicentra Spectabile (Old Fashioned Bleeding Heart)
will yellow and go dormant (vanish) in mid-summer. You are in Indy, which is
probably about like here in upstate NY. My Bleeding Heart (both types) are
both going great guns here and show no sign of yellowing so early in the
season. Are there any signs of insect infestation? Any other plants nearby
showing signs of stress? Wish I could be of more help, but this group is so
knowledgeable and helpful, I"m sure you'll have the answer in no time. Good
Luck!
