You are right. It is Lysimachia ciliata purpurea or L.c. 'Purpurea'.
This reminds me of the game we chillen used to play, where one would whisper a
statement in the next ear and ad infinitum.At the end , it always came out
completely different from the original message.
When I first wrote, I referred to the plant as L.ciliata 'Purpurea'
