Ah, thank you, Gene. Nicely researched piece. The arum seeds photo must
be the thumbnail, huh? It looks like my jacks-in-the-pulpit. And now
you've got me curious about whether I've got more than one species of jack
around my house. The place was owned at one point by a landscape architect
and he planted them. I am not convinced that it will actually *grow* in
the winter here in Minneapolis Zone 4, but Cyan is growing it over in St.
Paul, so it must be hardy here.

Are any of you northern gardeners growing hardy lycoris (resurrection
lily)?  I planted <runs out to check the tag, comes back in with wet feet;
there's still dew on the grass in the backyard> "Naked Lady" last June and
it didn't really go dormant and it didn't bloom. It's up now (well, 2 out
of 3 bulbs are up, I think one has given up) and I'm hoping for blossoms
this year.  Any tips, anyone?

Karen. [I'm also looking for a potting bench to leave outside all year, so
if anyone has any good sources, please send 'em my way. Thank you!]
