Marge, I have to have my two pots of fragrant purple petunias every summer.
I have learned to cut them back to a few inches twice in a season, and except
for a week after cutting, I have all fresh new growth and flowers. I use
slow release fertilizer in my pots, because the gardener here often forgets
to liquid feed. She forgets more and more as time goes by.
