AFAIK, early spring, just as they start to think about new growth....did
mine this year and they seem to think it was OK, doubt I will get bloom,
however as they were *so* overcrowded they had stopped blooming, like
yours...lovely things, tho'...would not want to be without them.

Think you could do yours now, being as you are farther north than I am and
your spring is at least a couple weeks behind mine...if they are so
crowded, they will probably be very happy for some breathing room, even if
they have put on some growth.
