Doesn't this one like moist conditions? It grows naturally on my parents'
property, classified as a wet woodlands. How about a description, Clyde?
An important characteristic would be the shape of the rhizome or 'bulb'. I
have grown Junos in drier areas, but I can't remember if they have beards.
Persians are supposed to do well in dry areas, but mine never bloomed, and
died after two years (I read in the RHS encyclopedia that conditions were
apparently right 1,000 years ago for these irises, but in modern times,
blooming is minimal to non-existant. It didn't say what was the difference
in conditions.).
