and as long the plant are green there are activity - what happens in autumn
is the they take the energy back to the roots from the leaves, and when the
'stuff' (herbicid. fertilizer or wht it might be) is on/in hte leaves it
will also be taken dovwn to roots, first when the plant loose the green
colour it is no use.
And regarding root activity - that lasts about one month longer than above
surface activity in many plant .. at least in a mild coastal climate which
I live in, as long frost has not had influence on the plant.
