Meserve Hollies

Hi!

I am thinking of trying these again (failed with them years ago) and
wonder if I can get any tips.

First, I am told that either 'China Boy/Girl" or 'Blue Prince/Princess"
would be most likely to succeed for me. Is this correct or should I try
another hybrid? Dirr says these two are hardy to -20. We occasionally get
a little colder (but only rarely). Which would be most likely to survive
here? How much farther north can these guys be grown successfully, and
what are your secrets, if any?

By the way, now that it has dropped all its leaves, my year old
Winterberry Holly (I. verticillata) is scrumptious! Covered with berries
(and no male pollinator in sight). I highly recommend it to one and all.
It gets maybe 3-4 hours shade per day--until leaves are off the
trees--then full sun. I can hardly wait until it has some age on it if it
is this delightful when this young.
