I think good nurseries will have a variety of plants available, including
those that are half-hardy, for those who like to try new things. They
should also have educated employees that will tell a customer the best
location for a questionable plant, and how to care for it. Here in zone 5 NW
Indiana, I tell people to put rhodos and holly in a sheltered place, but the
plants are still on the lot for anyone to buy without asking questions. We
have to assume they know what they are doing. And yes, it's policy to
refund the purchase price or replace the plant, making a loss for the
nursery. It is to the nursery's advantage to educate everyone, employees and
customers alike. Lynn
