Several people have organized the American Shade Gardening Society. This is
not at all meant to be a replacement of this listserve;rather, it is intended
to be complementary of such. The Society has no intention of having a
listserve--this one is excellent.
Our plan is to publish a journal of sorts;however, we need articles. So,
please, if you have a topic you should like to write about, then write as much
as you wish and please send the ms. to me.
Recall that most horticultural societies started with just a few members.
We have not settled on dues, but rather will ask only that interested persons
submit a nominal fee to cover mailing and packaging.
I am asking you all to suggest topics. Particulary we should like to get the
views of such persons as Gene Bush, who are quite knowledgeable about shade
tolerant plants. BUT we also should like to receive pieces from those that are
just beginning in the marvelous endeavor of growing plants in the shade.
