HI Vicky -
I tried using a bulb augur attacked to a drill and have not used it since
the first time. The problems that I ran into were the augur's inability to
get past tree roots and stones, and I have many of both in the areas in
which I was trying to plant bulbs, and the fast rundown of the battery. We
were too far away from the house to use an electric plug-in drill with
extension cord. Perhaps the use of the augur would be easier if the soil
has been previously worked and contains no impediments of any kind. Of
course, in that case, digging would be so easy that a drill would not be
needed.
Hope this information helps in your decision making.
