anemone coronaria Monarch De Caen

Hi. I planted these bulbs, which are borderline hardy here in zone 6, this
fall, intending to cover them with Christmas tree boughs in the winter. But
after a cold wave, it has been warm and wet, and lo and behold, the little
guys are sending up foliage. It is supposed to get really cold again in a
few days. Any idea what I can do so these will bloom next spring? I have
always been in love with these plants but I have to admit I've never seen
them in a garden north of DC.
