Susan,
As a Peorian I have tried Kalmias with not much success. The deer like them,
they don't like to be dry. I had one out of several I ordered from Wayside
Gardens. They sent nice plants and if they don't survive the winter, at
least you can get your money back. I always put a burlap tent around mine in
the winter, they get severly wind burned if you don't. Good luck growing
them.

I'd like to try it because they are so beautiful.
I've got a spot in a bed with good light but no direct sun in the
north yard with lots of well-drained leaf mold in the soil that is near a
bird bath so we can keep it moist.
Does anyone know a good source for this plant?
Thanks,
