Re: Lythrum salicaria


It's banned in Minnesota.  We live on a pond which has about 30 homes around
it.  I cut it back each year with a scythe and have also dug it out.  I also
pull out the plentiful seedlings in my gardens.  Controlling this plant is
one of my summer chores I do NOT look forward to!!!  I've heard there are 2
or 3 different beetles from Europe that show promise for controlling it
though, so there's hope!  Supposedly the beetles won't cause another set of
problems.
