Susan,
The famous old Klehm nursery seems to have split up into two separate
nurseries as of this year. Beaver Creek evidently is one half. I forget
the name of the other half. I believe Roy Klehm and John Elsley, formerly
of Wayside, are involved with the half that isn't Beaver Creek. Can anyone
shed more light on this? Gregg, Marge? It would be useful to know which
half carries what plants. The Klehms were never noted for azaleas, so if
they are now selling them it is great news!
NB, I just phoned Beaver Creek myself and talked to "Frank." He says they
are in Rockford, up north near the WI border, and only sell wholesale.
They have a catalog that they will send to landscape designers, nurseries,
etc., but they will not deal with individual gardeners.
Re the Northern Lights (or just Lights) series from U of Mn, which Gene
Bush and someone else recommended, Arbor Village in Missouri sells some of
them; Forest Farm supposedly sells some more (but I try not to buy plants
from the West Coast; shipping charge is just too high). EEE me privately
and I"ll give you Arbor Village's phone number.
