Dear Susan and David in Urbana,
This year we purchased a DR Powerwagon (www.drpowerwagon.com). We have 2 1/2
acres and the only place in our yard that is flat is our driveway. The only
way to access our back yard is with a wheelbarrow. Now I'm able to move stuff
around that I never would have with a wheelbarrow. The Powerwagon has an 800
pound load capabilities. This machine has allowed us to expand our gardens,
when if all we had was a wheelbarrow, we never would have done it. My husband
moved 2600 pounds of large rocks one Saturday morning in about two hours when
I wasn't home.
We figure we have moved about 3000 pounds of rock and eight tons of
dirt/humus/sand,10 yards of mulch, and God only knows how much the pile of
chip and shred weighs from the trees and brush that we had taken down. It
looks to be about eight yards. Oh, then we dug out a bed and moved that clay
to our paths around the property, to smooth out the roots and fill in by the
bridges, so now we can move the Powerwagon virtually anywhere on our
property...Need I say more (OH, I forgot the firewood)- We love it.
The machine is not cheap, but we feel it has paid for itself already. We did
not get the sulky because our terrain is so steep in some areas. We also got
the molded body which we have not used yet. The stake body is standard seems
more that adequate for everything. We also got the electric start (key) and
the all terrain tires.
Check it out. If you have any questions feel free to email me.
PS-That attachment for the pickup truck sounds neat, too bad our truck has a
cap on it.
