Re: Dog-hobble

Dog-hobble is Leucothoe fontanesiana, native in the mountains from Western
Virginia south to Northern Georgia and northern Alabama. It's an evergreen
with flowers similar to Pieris. The Dog-hobble name is supposed by have come
from the earlier settlers who found it growing so profusely that their dogs
were unable (hobbled) to get through it.
