Re: [PRIMROSES] Introduction

My interest in Primulas started several years ago during a trip to England
to judge in a daffodil show held at the RHS "Old Hall" in Vincent Square.
The Rock Garden Society had a show in The"New Hall" at the same time. I was
captivated ( enchanted, entranced, enthralled ) by the show auriculas. A
clay long tom pot containing a perfectly grown auricula 'Old Irish Blue'
still stands oout in my mind! This has led to a casual collection of a
number of different species and hybrids.

This past spring I attended a local primrose show ( my first ) met Jay Lunn
( are you out there Jay? ) and many other WONDERFUL primrose folks. The
flowers exhibited were sensational and inspiring. I joined the Primrose
Society and have enjoyed the fine Journal. I'm looking forward to my first
seed distribution and I have plans for a special primula "border" along a
shady walk.

I too look forward to hearing from other growers and primrose hybridizers.
I have a lot to learn!

With Best Regards,
Steve
