These four will grow into zone 4. If you keep an eye on the catalogs, new
selections of paniculata are being offered. Tardiva is strong and stately.
Quercifolia does not bloom every year but is a handsome fall foliage plant.
Annabelle is superior to the old forms of arborescens.
All grow in bloom in the shade here. More important, I think, is water.
Unfortunately the other hydrangeas are pot plants here.
