Hi,
I would also recommend the variegated weigelia. It has green leaves
with a nice white margin and pink flowers. I don't think it is quite as
hardy as the other weigelias. I am in zone 4 and usually have some die
back. It is a fast grower. This spring after it bloomed, I cut mine
clear to the ground and it is almost 4 feet tall now!
