Re: Eupatorium - sun or shade?


I was just wondering yesterday, after buying some plants from a big chain
store (not Lowe's or Walmart, but that type), if some cultivars are inferior
in spite of being the "true" cultivar?  Like you can get a great German
Shepherd or you can get a Shepherd with poor conformation, and both are
pedigreed.  I know hostas come in many quality ranges--does this happen even
when the hostas are NOT bred using seed?

Mine is new,,,planted it last fall and the leaves are definately chocolate.
Its in mostly shade, so age doesn't appear to be a factor. Also has just
started to bloom
