Five times the size?? Not a chance, unless you are only seeing
infant voles. Eastern moles are approximately 4.5 - 6.5".
Meadow & Woodland voles are approximately 3.5 - 5.5".
The reason the pea gravel actually would likely deter *voles*
and not *moles* is that moles dig deep tunnels, while voles tend
to have surface runs that they cover over with grass or other
plant material. Voles would tend to take the easiest route
around the pea gravel.
