Crocus and other questions

I bought some mixed spring-blooming crocus bulbs yesterday and am
wondering if they would be suitable for partial shade to shade
plantings? Or do they prefer full sun?

If I can only give a sun-loving plant (such as lavender) morning or
afternoon sun, which is preferred?
