I tried to do this---the strips were about 3/4 inches wide.
How deep they go into the ground was the problem for me. Mine would not lay
flat; I got the roll all tangled up----it was like those rolls of tape you
buy for packing.
I am simply not dexterous enough to use it. It was a disaster.
Glad that you have found a free source for copper sheets--it is terribly
expensive at garden centers.
Also, it is useless to kill or prevent slugs that live at the base of the
plant.
