We actually managed to get home at 8pm instead of 5:30pm. So it was fruit salad
and cottage cheese at the airport instead of the chicken pesto that my
mother-in-law had planned for our return.
Dallas was wonderful, but as others posted, there was certainly a dearth of
siberians. The Aitkens had guested a few and they were absent in every garden in
which they were planted. Apparently a number of shipments of guest iris got
caught in the UPS strike and were in sad shape on arrival. I would imagine that
most hybridizers guested their iris in Iowa. I am still contemplating whether I
would go to the siberian convention while Sandy goes to the HIPS convetion --
what to do with the kids as the mother-in-law is not available...
