Re: Data base of trial gardens

Hi Kathy,
People were kind enough to tell me that when I found this group. I'm really
looking forward to attending the event and the gardens. I can walk to the
RBG from my house...its about a 20 minute brisk walk...just down the road
from me. I live in Hamilton.
I will be growing some seed from Leroy's hydridizations starting this year
and I'm so excited about this. He has been very kind in this regard. I'm
trading him a very good sized start from my Tycoon (Cleveland 38) that I
bought some 14 or 15 years ago...it was my first and only Siberian until I
discovered this year that there are so many different varieties. I'm going
to plant labelled seed groups in pots and then transfer the ones that
sprout individually into pots that I will sink into the ground in an test
area that I prepared for this project. By the third year I can judge how
each of the hybrids do and hopefully Leroy will have a few good new hybrids.
I hope to meet you many of you at the convention and in the meantime I'm
learning a lot about Siberians from this group. I must add that like many
of you not only am I hooked on the Siberians but its uncanny that numerous
daylilies were added to my collection this year. My neigbours tease me
because I collect specific groupings of plants and have them in segregated
beds. I'm the RBG "wannabe lady" in the neighbourhood, but I must say that
my collection of different daffodils looks splendid this year!! Soon the
tulips will be in bloom and grouped- well they also look spectacular (am I
humble or what-[smile])
All of you are wonderful people and I must add again that I'm glad I found
this site.
Joyce
