Hi Dick,

I didn't see your original message, but got in on the replies.  You said 
these are Siberian irises, but one of the replies indicated that they must be 
I. reticulata if they are blooming now.  Are they blooming now?  The culture 
for I. reticulata is quite different from Siberian iris culture.

I live just a few miles from you in Beachwood and grow many Siberians.  My 
husband, Tony, and I donated and maintain a public iris display garden on the 
grounds of the Rockefeller Park Greenhouse in Cleveland.  These include quite 
a few Siberians in many different colors, forms and heights.  Two of these we 
introduced.  Right now only the miniature dwarf bearded irises are blooming.

We are life members of the Society for Siberian Irises, as well as the 
American Iris Society, and are iris judges.  We would be happy to give you 
advice about irises in this climate.
