RE: Siberians in water gardens

I grow 1 gallon pots of Siberians for sale. My display clumps are in the ground. When I receive shipment of wholesale divisions in early fall, I pot the divisions and put the pots in kiddie pools with pretty deep water. After the winter rains start in earnest, I have removed the pots from the kiddie pools because the pools are about 9" deep while the pots are about 6" deep. This year I found some 6" deep kiddie pools which I am now using for Siberians. During April and May I display the potted Siberians in an 5' x 8' wooden frame that protects the outer most row from the direct sun. Primarily, I do not want to be selling pots that were just sitting in up to 6" of water. After the garden closes to the public, I put the potted Siberians in shaded kiddie pools all summer long. They do fine as long as I keep some water in the pools. This probably wasn't the response you were expecting but some of the questions were probably addressed.

I need to thank Ellen for allowing photo attachments. The frame to the right of the potting bench probably has the Siberians. The area is the main sales area for the carriage trade portion of the business.

Subject: [sibrob] Siberians in water gardens

Hello everyone,

I have recently read a couple books saying Siberians are good water garden plants. Anyone using them in water gardens?
