{Disarmed} SSI 50th anniversary

Hi Everyone:

SSI will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2010. It was officially
accepted as a section at the AIS board meeting in Portland in May
1960 but there were articles in the AIS bulletin in 1959 leading up
to the formation of the society.

I don't think it is too early to form an exploratory committee to
discuss how we might celebrate this important event. If you would be
interested in helping in this capacity please let me know.
