These are ones that are growing around the front of my house. All the
others were buried in weeds.
I have a volunteer seedling that popped up a couple of years ago that is a
large violet and has purple sheaths. I had been watching the many bloom stems
come up and they had just started to show color in the buds. Then I stepped out
of my front door one morning and every bud had been eaten off by the deer. How
disappointing. They didn't eat any other buds.
