Hi Martin,

I'll try to answer most of your messages privatly for brevity here.  
Regarding your latest question, many interesting diploids would be 
worth converting and might make lovely tetraploids.  As you may 
realize, the conversion process using colchicine actually produces 
very few conversions.  There are now however, pioneers such as Bob 
Hollingworth, Kevin Vaughn, and others using pre-emergent herbicides 
to convert diploids to tetraploids which may be giving vastly better 
results than colchicine.  To know the results of their experimental 
work would probably be very beneficial and illuminating.
