I have been the Ways and Means chair for the past two Region 14 fall
regionals. In 1999, we purchased approximately $500 and had another $100 to
$200 donated by members. The revenue was about $1200. In 2000, the host club
matched the Region's $500. In addition another $200 to $300 was donated by
members. The revenue was $2000. There were approximately 100 registrants to
both meetings. There were a limited number of firesale items at the end of
the1999 Regional. There were a whole bunch of firesale items at the end of
the 2000 Regional and I had to take some leftovers back with me. That will
give you one reference point. The one major correction that should be made
was there was about $300 of purchased ($600 sales) of PCIs in the 2000 mix.
Those sell very well and are rarely firesale items. You, unfortunately, will
not be able to sell PCIs at your regional.
