Just because something has been around for centuries doesn't mean it isn't worthwhile and 'Pennywhistle is significantly different. Without the species to compare to I find many "modern Cultivars' boring they are all trying to do the same thing. A garden of only the most modern hybrids I find particularly ho hum.
