AIS: garden v. show judging

I went back this morning to the Sibrob web pages at:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/sibrob/ to re-read the posts on
judging and classification/categories because I was bothered
that the info in some posts pertained to garden judging and some
to show judging. I think that injected the show judging into the
thread.
Of course, Marty is correct when he opined that if one thinks
that an iris is incorrectly registered, a judge could not vote
for it in the awards' system. I am not a hybridizer and will
never be one for all kinds of reasons - chief among them is my
incredible lack of interest in keeping good records (excepting
TSI, of course :-). But I do vote the ballot. Some of us believe
it is in the best interests of AIS and also the hybridizers to
err on the side of caution and vote sparingly. Every vote on the
ballot merits thoughtfulness and hybridizers deserve no less.
Ellen (warming up today...)
