Gathering seed

Hello Anna Mae!
Aside from SIGNA members do you think there are SSI members who would
subscribe to a group to fund gathering seed in their native habitat?
An example would be to fund the Irkutsk Botanical Garden (see attached URL:
http://www.isu.ru/insts/botsad/indexe.htm) to seek I. sanguinea variants. The
funding would be in terms of funds or even modern cultivars in trade for seed.
Another option would be to fund China Iris Project II. I talked with Robert
Pries the other day and he agreed that now may be an ideal timeframe to work
within SIGNA to begin the groundwork for this project. What do you think of
these ideas?
