Siberian Irises are one of the groups of Iris that are poorly represented by pictures on the Iris Encyclopedia. Despite the fact that we have pages already there for 1069 cultivars, the vast majority, Siberian growers have done little relative to other groups to support their irises on the Encyclopedia with images. You are missing an enormous opportunity to promote Siberian Irises. Sadly there are several of the beardless groups that are in the same boat. But people keep going to the Encyclopedia and checking out the Siberians. Each month as many as 4,000 to 8,000 visitors look at that area of the Encyclopedia. Some of the stats I have analyzed would indicate that Encyclopedia users (we calculate over 50,000 a month, and over 250,000 views, a month) are even more curious about the smaller Iris groups than about the Tall-beardeds they already know. But they are not being re! warded with information that would sustain this interest. Please now that it is winter help us promote the Siberian Irises. |
