Thanks very much for the comments on the pictures posted so far -- positive too, which is always very encouraging. Here are answers to some of the questions that were raised:
Cathy Button: Why "red" -- well "reddish" would be better, I agree. The predominant color is the red-mauve color that for convenience often gets called red in the Siberian world, true red being absent. Of course, the color I see on my screen and what you see on yours could also be a little different too.
Chuck Chapman: Where does the plic effect come from? It seems that Somebody Loves Me is the key parent. 02B2B8 has this as one parent and so does Emily Anne, our first plicata-like siberian (photo posted). A sib of Somebody Loves Me is also a grandparent of 02B2B8 and maybe 10% of the seedlings had some version of this broken color pattern.
