Hi All
Here are two methods of increasing Siberians profile out there in
Gardening land
1) Clubs or individuals could sell Siberians on E-Bay for a "buy now"
and included in the price one years membership of SSI in some
packages.Insertion Fees are very reasonable. The point here is to have
exposure to people who buy plants on ebay and a picture of the plant can
be included in the listing for no additional cost make sure it is a top
picture as we all know the line "A Picture paints a Thousand
Words".Siberian Iris can bloom on Ebay for 6 months providing you have
the right pictures. To Pay up to $1.00 to have your product exposed
Everyday more than 35 million people logging in to ebay auction either
to search for bargains or to sell their stuff Is incredible media value
2)We are currently donating plants to a Private school here in Masterton
New Zealand that has 65 acres of Park Like grounds so that potential
buyers are exposed to the plants.Plants are currently been planted in
beds around car parks and the Assembly Hall and offices where parents
come to visit.Flowers for plantings last year where very popular for
cutting and display in the School Chapel and the Headmasters Office
Another avenue is to donate plants to the City Botanical Gardens with an
understanding that plants are to be labelled for 4 years and the label
shall have information on where the plants were supplied from or some
contact information
The level of exposure for Siberians right now should be on the move as
the Morgan Woods Medal has been awarded.Any person with stocks of
Riverdance should sell out.("RIVERDANCE" THIS AMAZING VARIETY IS THE
WINNER OF THIS YEARS MORGAN WOODS MEDAL, BUY IT NOW WHILE STOCKS
LAST")Perhaps the society should get a team together for next years
award season and have a carefully crafted Media kit available to promote
Siberians and the Morgan Woods Award.I would help with this.
If you don't believe that the public are swayed by awards have a look at
the movie industry
Kind Regards Terry Johnson
