I had it growing in a neglected part of my garden,
growing at the drip line of a weeping crabapple. I pulled the crabapple out last
year, in preparation for reworking that bed, but it hasn't happened yet. I'll
dig around and see if I can find it.
'Steve' was one of my first named Siberian
cultivars. The form is not particularly fashionable now and its form is a little
messy. I know that many people ripped it out in favor of newer cultivars, but it
definitely have a place in the garden, especially if you're going for a
"Monet" effect.
