Hello Maine Iris Society Members,
Maine Iris Society member Rudi Smith notified the editor of The
Times Record in Brunswick that Dr. McEwen had passed away. The
editor responded by running a front page story with a picture of
Currier. I am certain that many of you will want to read the
article and print a copy of it. You can do this at The Times

Note: The picture of Dr. McEwen does not appear on the website.
There will likely be a memorial service for Dr. McEwen sometime
in the near future. As soon as the date is known we shall let
you know. This week there will be a private family service only.
Last evening I notified Cindy Williams at Channel 6 and Paul
Tukey, editor of People, Places, and Plants magazine of Dr.
McEwen's passing. I think it's a sure bet that there will be
some further tribute in a future issue of the magazine.
A memorial tribute will appear in the July-August 2003 issue of
the Maine Iris Society Newsletter.
