Re: plants at NH prisons is for real

The garden project is a worthwhile one. Our County jail had the inmates
tend the flowers and they really enjoyed doing it. I saw yards of some
of the inmates after they were released and noted that they were
planting flowers too. This was in my former County of residence.

In the present county a park was being tended by a paid grounds keeper
for a while and then various staff members were tending it and it was
not well kept at all. The female trustees were given the opportunity to
tend the park and it was beautiful again. Sadly the powers that be
decided to use the park for other purposes and it is not beautiful any
more.

I have asked Sue if seeds could be donated as well as plants. If so
people who live too far away to ship plants safely might be able to
contribute seeds.
