Re: systemics

Hi Bob,

Very interesting.

I was visiting with Dorothy and Tony Willott over last weekend. I expressed
a consideration that I don't think the 2 Tablespoons per 10 sq feet, of
White Grub Control was sufficient to completely control the Borer and Tony
said probably not. His consideration was that the liquid requires a higher
concentration. I have cut down considerable on the infestation. I will
increase this in my fall application and see how it goes.

I had far more problem with a green (iridescent) Caterpillar with a light
stripe running down the side from the eye. It was eating buds. They showed
up right at the time the city sprayed for gypsy moths. Are they the
Caterpillar for the Gypsy. Do you know? I found many many moth webs on my
Iris markers last year when I put out brand new markers. Part of my fall
clean up this year will be to wash all the markers with bleach water.

Thanks, Char, New Berlin WI
