Re: About tagging crosses

Bill,
I bought a big bundle (about 1000) a few years ago --and I still have a 3 year supply left. I work mostly with Japanese irises and they are incredibly fertile. If I did 1000 crosses, I'd have about 30,000 seeds to do something with. I can't do that and still work for a living. I'd also need more acres.

I'll dig around and find the information after a killing frost. I did a quick web search and there's a company out there selling them for WAY TOO MUCH money. If you can't wait, make friends with some people in the retail nursery business and ask for their old business-to-business catalogs. That's where I found them.

It's not mistakes that bother me but I am definately lazy. Do you make or
  buy?
  How? Source? Cost?

As a point in passing, this year I used 1100 string tags on TB's. Your tag
technique would have merit on most types of crosses. Particularly daylilies. Not
having to make a seperate flat/garden marker goes past lazy to efficient.....
  some reputations are worth ruinin'.
